About the Work

FlocafÈ

Each branch of FlocafÈ, a leading chain of coffee bars across Greece and

Cyprus, is a place where locals meet to socialise. The brief was to create

an identity to reflect this local individuality as opposed to a national,

cold and distant corporation as well as to capture the passion that the

mediterraneans have for coffee and evoking associated flavours.



Solution

HGV began by designing a new logotype with a letterform featuring a stirring

swirl. Evoking the appetite appeal of coffee, this swirl became the basis of

a bespoke FlocafÈ typeface. Words containing the FlocafÈ swirling ëoí within

the bespoke typeface were created to recall the logotype and also to

reinforce the brand.
