JKD Collective Inc.

Tokyo

Bruce Ikeda is a Tokyo-based creative director, music director, and producer known for crafting immersive experiences and culturally resonant content through music, visuals, and storytelling.

He joined the newly established Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo office in 1999. While producing work for Nike Japan and APHQ, his projects that seamlessly blended music and visual culture drew wide attention. This led to the co-founding of W+K Tokyo Lab in 2003, an experimental music and visual label launched out of Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo. Serving as producer and music director for eight years, he helped shape a new era of audiovisual culture in Asia, blending Japanese underground music with bold visual expression. The label’s innovative releases and collaborations earned international acclaim and influenced a generation of creative technologists, designers, filmmakers, and music artists.

In 2012, Bruce founded his own creative studio, JKD Collective. Through close collaborations with renowned visual artists, composers, and brand creators, he leads the development of immersive installations, films, and sound-driven experiences across a wide range of industries. His work continues to explore new possibilities at the intersection of art, technology, and culture.

Most recently, Bruce served as music director and producer for the large-scale outdoor soundscape at Expo 2025 Osaka–Kansai, designing a generative, seven-zone ecosystem of sound with over 600 speakers and a roster of seven acclaimed composers.

His work has been recognized by The One Show, D&AD, ADC, and the Japan Media Arts Festival, among others.
