Tobias started his advertising career as a copywriter at Scholz & Friends in 1996. After two years he went on to Springer & Jacoby (S&J) to work on Mercedes-Benz and other clients. In 2000 Tobias became Creative Director of Springer & Jacoby’s famous Unit 4, handling Mercedes-Benz as well as smart, Maybach, Loewe and Axel Springer. In 2004 he was promoted to Executive Creative Director and Creative Lead on Mercedes-Benz. He left the agency in 2007 to work as a freelance Creative Director for renowned agencies such as Jung von Matt, BBH London, BBDO, Nordpol and Kempertrautmann. In 2011 he joined Kempertrautmann as a Creative Director for Audi. In 2014, Tobias became Group Creative Director and Member of the Management Board at Grabarz & Partner, one of Germanys leading independent agency. There he created international campaigns for Volkswagen (e.g. “Laughing Horses” & “Kid‘s dreams” and Burger King (e.g. “Never trust a clown”). In 2019, Tobias went back to Scholz & Friends Hamburg to become Managing Director and Partner of the Scholz & Friends Group. In 2021, he opened INGO Hamburg – the first international office for the well known Swedish agency INGO Stockholm (e.g. Burger King "Moldy Whopper" and "The Swedish Number"). There he works as Managing Director / CCO. Tobias has won around 650 awards including Cannes Lions, One Show, Eurobest, LIAA, Clio and ADC of Europe and has served as a jury member and jury chairman for Festivals like Eurobest, the British D&AD, the London international advertising award (LIAA), the One Show, Clio and the German Art Directors Club. He‘s a club member of the German ADC, the One Show and the British D&AD.
