In a career spanning nearly 25 years, Qingqile (Wing) has forged a reputation for producing quintessential South African campaigns for brands as diverse as BMW, Coca-Cola, Chicken Licken, BMW, Europcar, Isuzu, Sony PlayStation, Pepsi, Toyota, Standard Bank, Samsung, Mercedes Benz, Nestle and Vodacom. He’s has had stints at FCB, Twist/AfricaExtraBold (a small agency he founded and ran for 3 years), Network BBDO, Leo Burnett and Ireland/Davenport (Collective ID). Curiosity has also seen him run Connect & More, a specialist branded entertainment shop. Qingqile has served on all the major South African advertising industry bodies, including chairing the The Loerie Awards, South Africa’s major awards show for three years and sitting on the Creative Circle Exco for four years. He has also served on the outdoor jury at the Cannes Lions in 2006 and was appointed Radio Jury Foreman of the 2014 D&AD Awards before a cancer diagnosis forced him to withdraw. He was head-hunted by WPP to oversee the transformation of Ireland/Davenport, culminating in the agency (now called Collective ID, being named Gauteng’s Most Transformed Agency in 2018 and winning AdFocus Small Agency of the Year in November 2018. Mdlulwa left Collective ID in February 2019, to start a creative consultancy which he ran until joining Wunderman Thompson in January 2021.
