James is a creative leader who develops ideas that build brand love and ties brands to culture. His approach to creativity and brand marketing has led to culture shifting work that have spanned dozens of brands from nimble nonprofits to global top 10 global brands. With nearly a decade and a half of experience and a well awarded past at BBDO NY and VaynerMedia, James currently leads the Global Brand Studio at Duolingo. James’ unique background and vision has led to the creation of many types of nontraditional brand work including a documentary film on Netflix, a top 10 Billboard song, first of its kind uses of A.I. & tech, as well as government policy changes and love for an unhinged owl. His work has been recognized at every major industry award show and can also be found in the MoMA archives. James was also an academic instructor at the School of Visual Arts and founded Buzzworthy Content- An undergraduate course with over 100 graduates that focused on creating award winning culture shaping ideas with the next generation of creative talent.
