Read Interview
Dev Valladares is fiercely anti-style. Born in Mumbai and presently in San Francisco, working at OpenAI as a generalist designer (and formerly of COLLINS NY), his two-pronged approach is simple:
1. Never repeat the same thing twice.
2. Always surpass what has been done previously.
This process results in an ever-expanding spiral body-of-work that defies categorization and traverses mediums and techniques—from traditional print to 3D modeling to motion graphics to AI-generated art. The only evident pattern is a drive to push each tool to its absolute limit, and a tendency towards philosophical depth and meaning.
