Peter Hoffman is a husband, father and artist who works with photography in a variety of ways including but not limited to:
- Making original photographs, digital images (collages, paintings), and books as an artist - primarily centered around themes of place and environment.
- Making photographs on commission, mostly location portraiture and photo essays for general interest publications like The Guardian, Bloomberg Businessweek and the New York Times.
- Publishing through the collaborative venture Sleeper.Studio
- Teaching photography and photojournalism, most recently in the department of Art + Art History and in the Hussman School of Media and Journalism at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

He is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
