Amara Abbas is a Pakistani-American director raised in Chicago and based in Brooklyn. She began her career as an in-house Art Director at Apple, where she helped craft award-winning campaigns and commercial films, before transitioning to directing in 2021.

Her debut short film led to representation with ICONOCLAST and new–land TV, and she continues to build a body of work across narrative, music video, and commercial formats. In 2022, she was honored with the Young Guns 20 Award by The One Club, and in 2024, her music video XENA for Skrillex received international recognition and multiple awards for its bold editing and cinematic vision.

Amara’s work is driven by a desire to explore concepts through striking, image-led storytelling. She is drawn to systems- social, psychological, and technological, and to morally complex characters on the edge of transformation.
