As Executive Creative Director of Designworks, I am responsible for driving and maintaining the overall creative vision and quality standards of the studio.
Culture and creativity is a big focus for me. I am passionate about creating an environment to enable an open exchange of fresh ideas, unexpected outcomes, and a collaborative and enjoyable way of working. My other responsibilities include nurturing and growing talent at all levels and also driving and connecting the multidisciplinary approach of the studio.
I have worked on a very diverse range of projects over my 20year career including large and small scale branding programmes for nearly every sector, large and small consumer and FMCG brands, environmental and spatial projects, wayfinding, digital and motion projects. In my experience, an honest, pragmatic and collaborative approach brings the best outcomes with clients and projects.
Clients include Air New Zealand, Stuff, Fonterra, Silver Fern Farms, Telecom, DB Breweries, Heineken, Coca-Cola, Anchor Milk, NZME, Frucor Beverages, Kiwirail, Goodman Fielder, Semi-Permanent and The New Zealand Dance Company.
My work has received numerous awards including accolades from The New Zealand Best Design Awards, AGDA (Australian Graphic Design Association), Good Design Awards, Interior Awards NZ, Art Director's Club, Graphis, Communication Arts, DesignWeek Awards UK, Pentawards, London International Awards (LIA), The Dieline and my work has been featured in publications like Wallpaper and Monocle magazine.
I am also a Fellow of the Designers institute of New Zealand (FDINZ) and was previously the Convenor of Judges - Graphics for The New Zealand Best Design Awards and have judged 2 times previously.
I have also been a judge for The International Student awards (Taiwan), The Axis Advertising awards and The Design and Art Direction awards (D&AD).
In 2022 I was honoured to be the recipient of The Designers Institute of New Zealand Black Pin.
An award that is given to a member of the Institute who has made a lasting and valuable contribution to the design profession and design culture in New Zealand.
