Devan Harlan is an artist and designer based in New York. His interdisciplinary art practice operates across sculpture, installation, video projection and digital media. He has participated in the public art exhibition “Ideas City”, organized by the New Museum, NY and was included in museum show “Noor (Light)” at the Sharjah Art Museum, UAE. Gallery exhibits include solo and groups shows at Christopher Henry Gallery, Gallery Madison Park, White Box and Usagi Gallery.
Devan’s design practice has included experience design, 3D generative animation and physical design. His work with 3D projection has been presented at the Sonos Space (LA), the Singapore Light Festival and Coachella Music Festival. Notable projects include stage design for the Y-3 / Adidas Spring 2014 show during NYFW and a permanent commission for Canon USA’s global corporate headquarters in NY.
Devan was recently an artist in residence at the Frank Lloyd Wright School Of Architecture, Taliesen West (Winter 2017). He has been a teacher and guest critic for INDA (International Design & Architecture program) at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, and has given lectures at the ASU and NYU ITP. He is a self taught artist and was home educated for most of his childhood in California.
