We recognized that people are using their phones to communicate about their struggles with mental health. However, we discovered that people are also misusing these mental health words in casual conversations. We created a case study video demonstrating a new adaptation to the newest version of Apple's predictive texts technology in order to raise awareness about mental health.
Problem: We have normalized the use of mental health words to the point where we are not able to recognize when someone truly needs help.
Solution: Use Appleās predictive messages to send suggestions when trigger words of mental health issues are used. If the trigger word is sent, then that person will receive a resource for the corresponding mental illness.
