Description
The MBTI or the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator is a self-evaluation designed to identify a person’s personality type and help describe patterns in how we interpret the world, manage our emotions, gain energy, etc. Our creative process first began with research in studying the MBTI as well as the characteristics of all the preference pairs. We then created storyboards of each pair's scenario, developed the character design, and proceeded with creating the animation for the first two preference pair scenarios; “Extrovert vs. Introvert” and “Sensing vs. Intuition”.
The first animation puts the Extrovert and Introvert characters in a silly scenario at a nightclub where we see how they gain and lose energy. The E (Extrovert) character loves social interactions and is the life of the party while the I (Introvert) stays in the corner eyeing the exit. Using the lateral camera movement to show the clear difference between the characters, the tension keeps building until the E ultimately drains all of the I's energy.
The second animated short brings life to the second preference pair of the MBTI, Sensing and Intuition. Putting these characters in an absurd scenario at a movie studio, we can see how they process information. While the N (Intuition) character, lost in imagination, enjoys the creative world, the S (Sensing) character acts as the logical director and tries to snap the N into reality. Despite the efforts, the N stays lost in its imaginative world.
