The Young Ones competition is one of the most acclaimed advertising, interactive and design student competitions. It has a tradition of excellence dating back to 1986.
This project was done in collaboration. We were tasked to create a rebranding package for a television show or series. Our team selected the Netflix original series, MINDHUNTER, and agreed to incorporate 3D modeling and animation, along with some VSFX, to render still given our limited time frame. The resulting title sequence combines 3D and 2D animation, created using various software, such as Cinema 4D, After Effects, OctaneRender, Red Gaint, and Adobe Premiere.
Our concept revolves around the theme of alteration, as the main characters in the show are indirectly influenced by the criminals they study to the point of changing their habits, such as persistent smoking. To convey this eerie feeling, we utilized close-up shots of significant elements from the show to build up suspense. Additionally, we introduced the show's characters in a subtle manner, unlike their original title sequence.
