Description
Synopsis:
A man wakes up dressed in his bed. In the same room sits his son, playing with his car. As the father is about to get up, he notices leaves stirred up by the wind. All of a sudden, it starts raining in the room as he goes to the window. He is blinded by headlights until he is woken up in time by the EQS's microsleep detection system. He is able to brake the car before a heavy vehicle turns onto the road.

Based on the results of the "Beware of Microsleep" survey (by the DVR e.V. published by the ADAC) 26% of all drivers experience microsleep while driving. That's why we set ourselves the goal to tell an emotional father-son story in order to draw attention to this topic.
AWAKE was realized as a Spec-Spot production by the University of Television and Film Munich and Scholten Bergmann Film. Executive producers are Paul Scholten and Alexander Bergmann (co-director). Mercedes-Benz decided to release AWAKE as an international campaign about microsleep online on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok. In addition to the main spot, various trailers, a separate prequel spot and a making-of are part of the campaign.
