* Sometimes a fraction of a second is all it takes to change the world forever. The film SPLIT SECOND tells the backstories of three of the most influential photographs in human history. In three intercut episodes, we follow the photographer who captured these historic moments in iconic pictures and made them visible to the world.
As a free passion project without a client, the motivation for this project was in any case already a different one. We therefore did not have to follow any briefing or concept but decided on the content and the sender of the film quite freely. Of course, this also gave us the freedom to have no creative limits in terms of the stories we want to tell and how we want to tell them. But unfortunately, as a free project without clients, the project has had financial and resource limits.
We spent two years doing everything we could to research as accurately as possible, to always get the most out of everything and to always make the film the way it was in our imagination from the first moment on. After we have come together in the core team, we started planning everything, talked to people involved in the real events and went scouting in all directions. In total, the shoot stretched from January to April last year, included 8 days of shooting and involved over 400 people.
