Set in Java, Indonesia, a young girl who despises getting her long hair combed is at odds with the insistent combing from her Mother.

Hair for You” is a 3:48 minute film predominantly made with Autodesk Maya. Storyboard, concept art, and animatics were all made with Procreate and Adobe Premiere. Character models were done in Maya and ZBrush. Rigging was done with Advanced Skeleton, with custom controls for the hair and dress. The main character’s hair and dress was made and simulated in Marvelous Designer, Brotools and nCloth. Environments and props were modeled in Maya and ZBrush. Speedtree was used for trees. Megascans assets, specifically foliage and food, were used in the environments. Shading was done in Substance Painter. Lighting and rendering were done in Maya using Arnold Render. Compositing was done in Nuke. Leaf simulation (swing scene) was done using Houdini. Final editing was done in Adobe Premiere and credits were done in After Effects.
