Memory Lane is a heartwarming film shedding light on families with loved ones suffering from dementia. Our story was inspired by our director's grandmother, who suffered from a traumatic brain injury that left her with chronic dementia. It is also a dedication piece for being her primary childhood caregiver in place of her working parents. The story follows an old lady on a journey down an enchanted magical clock where she recollects her lost memories with the help of her granddaughter.

The course of life theme is one that all can find solace in, one way or another. It highlights how we have each other and the memories to guide us through life despite the challenges it throws at us.

With the help of the industry professionals who served as our thesis advisors, we were able to learn about the pipeline, adapt to it, and approach it professionally. We used programs such as Maya, Zbrush, and Marvelous Designer to model all of our assets. UV layout was a useful tool to achieve the desired UVs quickly and efficiently. We then used Substance Painter, Substance Designer, Substance Sampler, and Photoshop to texture and develop the look of said assets. Then we used Advanced Skeleton to rig our characters, and animated everything in Maya. We also purchased the AnimPolish plugin to clean up our animation. We also lit everything in Maya, and comped in Nuke. Finally, we color corrected our film in DaVinci and also put our edit together there!
