During the summer of 2024, my biggest personal expense was medical bills. After dealing with so many non-life-threatening issues for years, I found myself bouncing between specialists and medical professionals. Even so, my conditions were still bothering me. It seemed like my doctors couldn't figure out the cause, thus, they would refer me to another specialist... and then another. I felt like I was chasing symptoms rather than solutions. This is when I discovered Traditional Chinese Medicine and was referred to an acupuncturist. During our first session, I learned that acupuncture can treat so much more than what I originally went in for. Over the next few months of going weekly, the conditions that my specialists and I could not treat were healed.
When I initially said I wanted to do a book about acupuncture, I thought fun, with light needles and the power of the five elements! I soon realized the daunting task of condensing 2000 years of Traditional Chinese Medicine into a digestible book. Nevertheless, I envision a future where Western and Eastern medical practices are seamlessly combined, empowering patients to choose treatments that align with their individual health needs.
