OBSCURE explores the power of concealment and transformation in reshaping perception, meaning, and innovation through contemporary art and design. By exploring in six directions—Obscure, Repurposing, Anomalous, Nonsensical, Reconstructing, and Reassembling—the book examines how obscurity challenges conventions and invites reinterpretation.

Each direction comes to life through a dedicated project, physically embedded within the book’s six folded spine creases, each concealing a unique exploration of obscurity. At the heart of every project lies a hidden barter story—an unpredictable exchange where one object is traded for another unknown surprise, further deepening the theme of obscurity.

The book’s design mirrors its concept: text is tucked into the gutter, contrasting with exposed images, while the folded spine structure doubles as chapter dividers. Through both content and form, OBSCURE offers a layered and immersive exploration of the unseen, the altered, and the unexpected.
