The inspiration for my typeface comes from two main sources: the earliest historical inscriptions from St. Sophia's Cathedral in Kyiv dated 12th century — which are also considered the first examples of Ukrainian graffiti — and contemporary graffiti.
I have that idea where my 3 weights reflects my concept of graffiti story: Extended Black weight inspired by big wide modern graffiti in a "throw up" style. Bold inspired by mix of historical first ukrainian graffiti constructions with modern inflated graffiti letters. And Italic inspired by only historical inscriptions which where done in glyptic method of letter writing so it has that contrast, with massive terminals and strong serifs, and it feels like visible ink pools and uneven texture. So my idea is to combine those characteristics, and to use that family stems constructions, but use them in Italic like with those drope serifs (which where not serifs in a Bold and Black stems). So, when I moved the serifs down, a break stayed in the middle of the stem, so I made it narrower on purpose to create an angled shape that makes the contrast and italic feel stronger.
