Virtual + In Person Option Available

Join us for an engaging virtual panel, where our panelists will discuss the state of mental health wellbeing in the advertising industry. Moderated and led by One Club member, Amy Small.

ABOUT THE EVENT:

In an industry notorious for its high expectations and relentless pace, burnout among advertising professionals is an all-too-common struggle. A revealing 2022 Forbes survey found that 83% of those in the field suffer from burnout, fueled by long hours, demanding clients, shrinking budgets, and unrealistic expectations.

Recognizing the gravity of this issue, Amy Small—mental health advocate, former EVP of Brand and Creative at Media Cause, and current Managing Director of Health Action Alliance—launched a survey this spring. Her goal? To dig deeper into the factors driving burnout and to spark meaningful change within the industry.

Join us for an upcoming virtual event where we'll reveal the survey's findings on the state of wellbeing in the advertising industry. We will delve into strategies for improving the work environment and advocating for mental health. This is a unique opportunity to participate in a crucial discussion that could reshape the future of our industry.

We are excited for an outstanding panel, including Walter Geer III, Chief Creative Officer at Innovation North America; Irene Campbell, Supervisor of SEM at Mediahub Global and DEI Advocate; Connie Chweh, Senior Art Director at Peloton and Co-founder of AZN AMERICANA; and Kat Gordon, Creative Coach, Keynote Speaker, and Board Member. Don’t miss out on this chance to engage with industry leaders and drive meaningful change.

An Added Bonus for Our Creatives in Atlanta

We invite you to join the live screening of this panel hosted by the Atlanta Chapter at O4W Industrious Rooftop. Amy Small will be there in person, moderating the panel and available for a Q&A session afterward. BEYOND THE BREAKDOWN | MODERATOR

AMY SMALL

Brian Collins is a child of the space age.

His imagination lived in visions of far-flug solar systems, through distant galaxies and on starships through books, television and films like 2001: A Space Odyssey. And just as a generation of children were inspired by promising futures through the eyes of science-fiction writers and directors, an older generation of scientists and engineers at NASA were hard at work making the conquest of space real “for all mankind.”

Surrounded by the latest science, technology and rockets - and inspired by the sleek mid-century modernism of American space toys and games, back then even Brian felt that the old NASA meatball logo was more of a WWII military patch than a flag for traveling into the future. Then, everything changed. At 13, Brian witnessed the rollout of the Space Shuttle “Enterprise," named after the spaceship from the celebrated TV show, Star Trek. And there it was. For the first time. On the side of the brilliant white spacecraft was Richard Danne's new, bold, red, elegant, minimal and aggressively modernist NASA logo, emblazoned proudly on the fuselage. It was as if Richard had taken the United States' collective vision for the final frontier and crystallized it, making it real through graphic design. Dazzled by an artist's ability to visualize the future before it arrived, Brian’s decision to be a designer was instantly reaffirmed. Decades later, Brian finally met his hero in San Francisco only to discover Richard had once lived near Brian's hometown on Cape Cod. Since then, Brian and Richard have developed a friendship across two generations, both still looking at the stars.
