Terry Blade
Blade Arthouse Media
Terry Blade is a multidisciplinary creative whose work bridges music, storytelling, and social design. Rooted in the Black American folk tradition and shaped by the language of modern craft, Blade uses sound, film, and visual design to interrogate heritage, identity, and collective memory. His projects often move between intimate self-portraiture and documentary-style commentary, creating a sonic and visual world where culture and concept meet form.
His work has been recognized by The One Club Denver Awards (three wins including Silver for Sound Design and Custom Content), the Cresta Awards, Summit International Awards, Telly Awards, and Graphis Design Awards, alongside multiple wins at international film and music festivals in Vienna, Prague, and Berlin. Across genres, his creative output functions less as entertainment and more as social design — using craft as advocacy.
Blade’s projects, such as Chicago Kinfolk: The Juke Joint Blues, American Descendant of Slavery, and Won’t Be Around, explore the intersections of race, history, and art through multidisciplinary storytelling. Whether composing, directing, or designing, his process foregrounds authenticity and experimentation, bridging the space between folk music, contemporary design, and purpose-driven brand storytelling.
