New One Club Board Members Represent the Best of the Advertising Industry

NEW YORK (December 15, 2004) - Today The One Club announced the addition of seven new members to its board of directors, each of whom were elected by the members because of their caliber and their contributions to the world of advertising: Joyce King Thomas, chief creative officer at McCann Erickson (New York); Joe Duffy, chairman of Duffy & Partners (Minneapolis); Brian Collins, executive creative director at Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide (New York); Jan Leth, co-executive creative director at OgilvyOne North America (New York); Deborah Morrison, associate professor at the University of Texas (Austin); Kara Goodrich, creative director at BBDO (New York); and Steve Sandstrom, partner/creative director of Sandstrom Design (Portland, OR).

"The nominations of our board members are based on their reputations for excellence in advertising," said Mary Warlick, executive director of The One Club. "Those who have been elected represent the best the industry has to offer, and we're excited about the direction they will help lead The One Club in the coming years."

Of the new members, several have recently been recognized for their importance to the world of advertising. Joyce King Thomas was recently named to the highly influential position of chief creative officer at McCann Erickson. She is best known as the writer and creative director behind MasterCard's revolutionary "priceless" campaign and has led that campaign's development in 90 countries and in 48 languages.

Of the other board members who have recently been recognized is Joe Duffy, chairman of Duffy & Partners in Minneapolis. Duffy was recently featured on the cover of HOW Magazine as a leader in the branding and design fields. His work includes brand and corporate identity development for companies such as BMW, Coca-Cola, Sony, McDonald's, and Starbucks.

In addition to its focus on design, The One Club also sought to increase its focus in the Interactive field. Jan Leth is the co-executive creative director of OgilvyOne North America, the Interactive division of Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide. Leth is a powerhouse in the Interactive advertising market, as his clients include IBM, Ameritrade, Unilever, SAP, and Sprite.

"The new board members will bring with them their considerable talent and creativity to an already stellar One Club board," said David Baldwin, president of The One Club. "We help to set standards for the industry, and the quality of work that our board has created is a testament to the talent and creativity that is so integral to The One Club's mission."

These board members join an already prestigious group of advertising executives including: David Baldwin, McKinney + Silver; Rick Boyko, VCU Adcenter; Earl Cavanah, Lowe Worldwide; Cliff Freeman, Cliff Freeman & Partners; Jim Mountjoy, LKM; Gerry Graf, TBWA/Chiat/Day; Tod Seisser; Ernie Schenck; Luke Sullivan, GSD&M; Kevin Roddy, Bartle Bogle Hegarty; Lance Jensen, Modernista!; and Jose Molla, la communidad.
