About the Work
We were briefed by MINI to launch the new MINI John Cooper Works series with a global campaign that should conquer the hearts and minds of motorsport enthusiasts. In 1964, at the start of the famous Rallye Monte-Carlo, almost everyone doubted the MINI. But John Cooper’s unwavering faith in the tiny but highly maneuverable car, fitted with a bigger engine, silenced the symphony of naysayers. We painstakingly recreated the race using car models and even billboards from the original rally. Media comments of the time like "sweet little tin can" and "big dreams with small chances" became the lyrics of an intricate, tension-filled soundtrack promptly silenced as the MINI John Cooper Works crosses the finish line. The film was entirely shot on location in Monte Carlo, using also cameras from that period.
