About the Work
Barretos’s Cancer Hospital is a well known and respected hospital in Brazil specialized in cancer treatment. After many years, they decided to change their name to “Hospital de Amor” (“Hospital of Love”), replacing “cancer” for “love” on its name. We turned the hospital’s renaming into a tale of hope: a 3-minute animated film telling the story of a cancer patient that falls into an abyss of fear and later is brought back by the love of those around her. The message is simple but true: fighting cancer is easier when we’re surrounded by love. The animation took ten months to be produced, including a song composed and recorded specially for the piece.
