About the Work

Last year, Apple took over the Grammys with Animoji Karaoke, :60 spots that celebrated artists and their music. This year, Apple upped the ante at music’s biggest event with Memoji. Utilizing Apple’s latest iPhone technology, we made Memoji versions of the biggest Grammy nominated artists – Ariana Grande, Khalid, and Florida Georgia Line. We created a trio of Memoji Music Videos of their biggest hits, using only an iPhone to capture the Memoji's performance and lip sync. The spots ran at timely breaks during the Grammys and online across social channels. In addition to the spots, we took over downtown Los Angeles with huge billboards and hand painted murals featuring Memoji Album Art, including Grammy celebrated artists Kacey Musgraves and Shawn Mendez. The internet loved the joyful celebration of music, particularly for Ariana Grande who boycotted the Grammys, but still managed to have her huge moment as a Memoji.
