A coffee-table book exploring the feeling of identity: Armin Walcher, photographer, is in search of consistency–with an open mind to transition and change. In the area of Ausseerland–geographically speaking, the heart of Austria–he discovers the unexpected amidst tradition and finds: timelessness in motion. Walcher encounters thirty women and men who open up to him and thus enable him to create a panoramic view of the region’s spectacular beauty, its cultural identity and its colorfulness. This exceptional book gives personal insights into the lives of the people living in the region. It tells their stories with great honesty and conveys a strong notion of excitement, serenity and naturalness complemented by breathtaking photography. Walcher and his team take up a multi-faceted approach: They created a fascinating internet presence on the website and an app, which provides the opportunity to recall each of the thirty stories via video.
