About the Work
In 2019, The Decade Wrapped invited social media to dance to 10 years of data. For hundreds of millions of listeners around the world, Spotify was the soundtrack of their decade. So as the 2010s drew to a close, our annual Wrapped campaign looked back on ten monumental years of data. With our two brand films, we dramatized an imagined debate about the best songs of the 2010s—and then passed the torch to an artist who will lead us into 2020s. We then wrapped hundreds of data stories into OOH that ran in 21 markets, and produced a 10-part Spotify Original Podcast that threw back to the decade’s biggest hits. Then for listeners, artists, and podcasters, we designed three distinct digital experiences to explore, relive, and share their own unique decade. With 60+ million visits and 30+ million shares, and countless memes and remixes, The Decade Wrapped generated 730 billion social impressions, 8,000 pieces of press, and became the #1 Twitter trend for 2 days.
