About the Work
2019. The day of the fall of the Berlin Wall marks the 30th anniversary. Although several decades have passed: Walls of all kinds threaten our society. Walls between states, religions, and even opinions. This is why our thinking and freedom worldwide is endangered. „Die Kulturellen Erben e.V.“ are a Berlin institution whose mission is to promote multicultural exchange. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall, they sent a message to the leaders of the world, answering the following question: “What would the Berlin Wall say today?” A font was developed from original graffiti letters from the Berlin Wall, which made it possible for the wall to have its say 30 years after it fell. The result: an urgent appeal for freedom. For a world without walls – not even in your mind. The campaign includes a film, an online tool, its own Instagram channel, a Twitter account, posters and its own font for download.
