And this is what her 5th magazine "better than perfect" is all about. The advantages of print over the web are played out haptically and conceptually. The layout plays and breaks with viewing habits, visual tension and surprise accompany the reader through the magazine and spans a visual arc across the entire magazine. The recycled paper made of birch with highly visible inclusions contrasts the aesthetic photography and generous white space lets the paper have an effect. The slightly oversized format creates the necessary space for this. Each recipe is generously presented on a double page. The left-hand italic typographical distinction takes its inspiration from handwritten notes in historical cookbooks. The magazine is intended to inspire and encourage recooking. The range extends from very simple to more sophisticated recipes—so there is something for everyone. An ingredients index closes the magazine and also serves as a decision-making aid when selecting recipes or as a list for shopping.
