The New York Times

Deb is best known for innovative design systems and branding, visual story-telling, and skillful typography. Today she is Director of the design studio for Books and Commerce at The New York Times. She started at The Times in 2017 where she served as Design Director and co-founder of The New York Times for Kids. Formerly, she worked as Creative Director at Meredith Corporation where she supervised the rebranding of More magazine. Before joining More, Bishop worked at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia for 12 years. During her tenure there she was co-founder and VP, Design Director of several publications including: Blueprint magazine, Martha Stewart Kids, Martha Stewart Baby and Martha by Mail. Her early design years were spent working at House and Garden, Rolling Stone and as design assistant to Paula Scher. Her work has been recognized by The Art Director’s Club, The Type Director’s Club, Society of Publication Design, Society of News Design, American Illustration, and D&AD and Creative Review, in the UK.
