Kinsa
CHALLENGE
For young adults trying to find events and build community, the search experience is scattered and unreliable. Young adults often discover events on Instagram, but only if the algorithm happens to surface them. Relevant events get buried under unrelated posts, ads, and noise, so users end up hunting through Stories and feeds hoping to stumble on something good. Platforms like Meetup are not much better. They cast a wide net, showing events that feel generic. Nothing feels curated or personal. The result is fatigue and frustration. People miss events they would love, attend ones that feel off, or give up altogether.
SOLUTION
Kinsa is a mobile app that makes event discovery feel curated, intentional, and actually useful. Designed for people aged 20 to 35, the app recommends events based on what users care about: their interests and values.
A quick onboarding flow captures preferences from the start, and a smart tagging system allows users to filter by vibe, distance, date, and more.
Kinsa's event page adopts Instagram’s 9:16 ratio so event creators can upload the same flyers they already share on social media, keeping the workflow seamless and removes the need to design separate assets. When an event sparks interest, it goes straight into the in-app calendar so users can see their week at a glance. Light social features help users connect without making the app feel like another social network. Customizable profiles let people share as much or as little as they want, and messaging makes coordinating plans simple. The brand is friendly, modern, and intentional. It positions Kinsa as the cooler, more curated alternative to platforms like Facebook Events and Meetup. Kinsa gives young adults an event discovery tool built for relevance, alignment, and connection.
