About the Work
Since we were speaking specifically to engineering-minded students, we wanted to create a book that was self-aware of its physical properties and construction. To do this we employed a system of varying paper sizes throughout, left the printerís marks visible on the page, and bound the book with a metal coil. Inside, both the copy and visual direction reiterated the theme that at the University of Dayton you receive a well-rounded, multi-disciplinary education beyond the exceptional engineering courses. Or, as one spread says in reference to an Italian study abroad program, ìSometimes engineering involves gnocchi in a butter-sage sauce.î The end result is a book that looks and sounds unlike any other engineering viewbook. Just like their engineering program is unlike any other schoolís out there.
