About the Work

Brief
Our client Sulakshan Kulkarni is a retired national-level cricketer who runs a cricket coaching
academy in Mumbai. The brief was to create a corporate identity that went beyond a logo, and tried to
capture the level of national passion towards cricket, which is undoubtedly the most loved sport in India.

Solution
We didn't have to look far to see symbols of India's passion for cricket. They were all around us,
in the window panes of almost every apartment, broken by a stray cricket ball from children playing
in the street. This is not only an everyday occurrence in India, they are also the symbol of a
budding cricketer. No player can make it to the national team without a childhood full of broken
window panes. We thereby decided ë Broken windowí to be represented in our graphic identity.

Response:
The new identity made the Sulakshan Cricket Academy stand out amongst
other cricket schools. It also resulted in a lot of smiles, nostalgic conversations
and a 20% increase in inquiries in the month of October 2008.
