About the Work

Virgin America is fun and modern. But in 2014, a lot of travelers were still choosing old, boring airlines. They needed a wakeup call to remind them that flying doesn’t have to feel soul-sucking. So we created a fake airline to embody everything that’s wrong with generic carriers. We called it BLAH Airlines. We introduced our campaign with the first ever recreation of a flight on a generic airline. Just like a real cross-country flight, our film lasted five hours and 45minutes. And we created enough unique, weird content to fill all that time. We put our film on YouTube as the longest pre-roll video ever made. Viewers could exit various scenarios in the film to go to Virgin America instead. Throughout the movie, we also seeded multiple ways to interact with BLAH and brought them to life in various channels.
