What do diner booths and the Internet have in common? It’s not cat videos or awkward family photos. Diner booths and the Internet are where great conversations happen, and both are always open 24/7. But how can a successful brand break into the social media world? We started by winning the hearts and stomachs of customers everywhere. First, we grabbed conversations happening naturally in diners and brought them outside the booth…like way outside the booth with wit (putting a Denny’s spin on pop culture references), weirdness and mind-bending gifs, and a whole new kind of fan interaction. So how are we doing? We’ve received a ton of press and praise, not just from the critics but from our fans. In fact, Denny’s is considered one of the world’s best brands on Tumblr in terms of community engagement. We’ve even shot up Rolling Stone’s Pop Culture Power Chart to number fourteen.
