About the Work

Converse’s brief called for a cultural moment to celebrate one of the world’s most iconic products, targeting people whose lives are shaped by their creativity. The Chuck Taylor All Star is the only sneaker defined by the self-expression of the people who wear them – a blank canvas. Converse designs Chucks, but they are Made By You. Our idea was to create a global exhibition of signed portraits that gives credit to people who wear them. We brought fan-sourced sneaker portraits and films to life across OOH, PR, paid digital media, experiential and social media. Campaign ran in 41 cities, 5 continents throughout March and April 2015. Turning traditional media into exhibition space, from station dominations to sequential billboards and large painted murals. While diversity of portraits permeated across media, the film ran online and in cinema driving deeper engagement by sharing the stories of Chuck wearers around the world.
