About the Work

Marvel and Coca-Cola joined forces to provide a film which aired during Super Bowl 50.   The spot follows The Hulk and Ant-Man, in pursuit of a Coke Mini. Our rigging pipeline, built from an artist’s perspective, was instrumental for creating The Hulk, a character notoriously difficult in the VFX world. The muscular system inside The Hulk was redefined, as was the simulation process. Our animators took to our in-house MoCap studio with a keen understanding of how to inject the performances of the original actors into the movement of the characters. Ant-Man posed a different challenge. He received new MoCap, running the MoCap and hand-keyed animation through our internal wrinkle/cloth system for tight fitting suits. For the Coke mini, the team studied the shot to see how they could light The Hulk and Ant-Man, while treating the Coke can with specific lights to make it pop.
