About the Work

Tomcat Rodent Control kills mice fast. What do we do with all of the dead mice? Turn them into dead mice puppets and make an interactive slasher film on Facebook Live…called Facebook Not Live. Premiering on Halloween, Facebook Not Live followed the tropes of all silly horror movies, but had one major twist: the viewer were the murderers, choosing how each mouse character got killed in real time. Like all movies, it was hyped with a trailer and posters, and shared across shared across social media the week before Halloween. Not only did the trailer receive 2.2 million views in just one week, the event itself reached 2.3 million unique users. Plus, 21% of our movie viewers actively participated in murdering our mice and most impressively, we increased our Facebook fanbase by 58%.
