About the Work
Washi tape ‘mt’ is a derivative commodity from masking tape which is usually used in construction site. As its various colors and patterns, ‘mt’ got popular to decorate things and developed a new market as a nifty and useful gadget. These posters were created for a promotional exhibition ‘mt ex’ at RAFFLES CITY in SINGAPORE. As that year was the 50th anniversary of Singapore's independence, the manager of the venue required us to hold a bright and joyful event. Although the venue was a modern and simple building, I was impressed by the intricate beams in a ceiling. So I designed the cut outed posters inspired by the ceiling. Those posters were used for the decoration of the exhibition and handed out to the visitors.
