About the Work
No two Cheetos® snacks are alike. And every so often, they look like something familiar. Like a sea horse. Or Abe Lincoln. So we opened the Cheetos Museum and challenged America to find the most amazing Cheetos, sparking a nationwide hunt for the uncanny shapes hiding in every bag. The campaign launched with films about actual Cheetos that had been found, generating over 23 million views. The films drove to CheetosMuseum.com, where consumers could explore the exhibit and submit their own shapes to win. We took the best shapes on tour, culminating in an exhibition at Grand Central Station in New York. The campaign resulted in the strongest sales week ever for Cheetos. It was the most engaging social campaign in the brand’s history, and it trended on Facebook for two days. The site received 1.47 million visits, 525 percent above the brand’s average, and 127,717 unique Cheetos were submitted.
