About the Work
BURGER KING® is constantly looking for innovative ways to connect with their target group in hopes of winning over their rivals’ customers. With our LOVING “IT” stunt we managed to do just that: In September 2017, Stephen King’s “IT”, starring a terrifying horror clown, had its German pre-premiere. We seized the opportunity to engage with our target group, by sending out an unmistakable message against our competitor und their iconic mascot. So, with just two powerful spotlights, we projected a tagline saying „The moral is: never trust a clown.“. Then, as the moviegoers left the theatre, they received a coupon for a free WHOPPER® in the shape of the iconic red balloon. Thus we not only effectively turned one of the hit movies of 2017 into the longest ad ever, but as the stunt went viral, we also created BURGER KING® Germany’s smartest cross-platform event.
