About the Work

Autism is a disability that affects 1 in 80 people worldwide. Autism encompasses a wide spectrum of abilities causing many people to underestimate the capabilities of people with Autism. Because of this, over 90% of Autistics have difficulty finding employment and often feel discriminated against before of their Autism. We needed to make people realise that the typical habits of Autism, such as extreme focus, obsession and attention to detail to can be an advantage. Against classical music, a narrator describes little known, bizarre habits of Charles Darwin. Along the way he reveals that these quirks enabled Darwin to formulate his Theory of Evolution. Eventually he reveals that while Darwin may have had Autism, his unique traits made his famous work possible. The piece finishes with an appeal to the listener not to doubt people with Autism today, because people with Autism have always shaped history.
