Since 2013, thirteen terror plots have been foiled in the UK. In a third of such cases there has been some level of intervention from a member of the public. With the number of terror threats growing, the need from the police to keep getting information from members of the public has never been greater as their resources are stretched across hundreds of investigations Despite this, we know from our research that many people are still reluctant to report suspicious activity to the police because they’re either not sure if it will be significant or they feel like they might be wasting police time 'code: SEVERE' is a podcast series revealing the inside story of terrorist attacks from the files of U.K. Counter Terrorism Police, as told by the officers, witnesses and the terrorists themselves. Radio commercials also ran nationwide for three weeks driving people to the full length stories.
