About the Work

Spotify created this spot as part of a campaign to drive awareness of its Family Plan deal in the UK. It celebrates a moment where music brings family together, in particular those with teenagers at home. Most brands paint a saccharine “advertising friendly” version of families in their commercials. So in order to cut through, we recognized the role of music in more progressive family households. We explored unforgettable, even cringe-worthy moments, that are closer to what real family life is like. This led to a more unexpected but relatable execution that created conversation. It aired on television during one of the highest rating programs of the week that families watch together - Britain’s Got Talent. It also ran before tentpole cinema releases.
