About the Work
Mass shooting incidents like Sandy Hook, Pulse and Vegas gain national attention, but unfortunately that attention quickly fades. We believe a mass shooting happens every day in America, just not in one location. Just last year 14,651 people were killed by guns. We need to maintain national attention on a daily basis and get the right people talking, if we’re ever going to #EndGunViolence, so we developed a way to automatically generate a sobering video every day that shows the street locations of each person killed by guns the day prior. Using Twitter, we target influencers, politicians, and the media, letting them know that we need to keep talking if we’re ever going to solve the problem. This also gives people the chance to directly share this powerful message with their mayor, congressman, senator, and even president, letting them know that this is an issue we need to solve.
