About the Work

Winter in Sweden can be though, especially if you are homeless. When the temperature drops below -7°C, the risk of fatal frostbites increases, and emergency-shelters open up. The problem was that few got the information. Clear Channel is an active player in the cities where they are present pushing the boundaries on developing their digital screens. By doing that, they could contribute with a software that could be a real drive for change, something that hadn’t been done before. To customize and real-time direct messages we created an emergency system that, based on data from a number of organizations and institutes, shows the way to the closest open shelter for those who are homeless. Weather data, distance and time customized the information that was shown on the screens. Above -7°C, the screens showed information of the non-emergency shelters and public information of the current need of donations or volunteers.
