About the Work

French’s invented yellow mustard 115 years ago. Since then, competitors have steadily stolen everything from our claims to the bottle design. And now, mustard is just mustard to the average consumer. After our storied history of putting our product on hamburgers and hot dogs, we introduced the world to an all-new use/occasion: ice cream. We had samplings of the new product in NYC and LA, while also releasing the at-home recipe for any and all to make themselves. In just a few days, we garnered over 1 billion impressions, 400 million social impressions, and news coverage from every major outlet. Most importantly, French’s Classic Yellow sales went up 6.8% after the product launch, all by offering a new, unconventional use for the product.
