10 years ago we took on the daunting challenge to combat suicide within the population of working-aged men (the highest demographic for suicide in the US). Our solution: Humor. We launched ManTherapy.org and a supporting campaign that introduced the world to Dr. Rich Mahogany, a fictional therapist who uses humor and “manly” advice to overcome the stigma of “working on yourself” and encourage men who are facing stress, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, etc. to improve their mental health and wellness. Last year, Hensel Phelps (a construction company with projects all over the world) asked us to repurpose our Man therapy campaign and Dr. Rich Mahogany’s persona to help them with an internal mental wellness video campaign speaking to their thousands and thousands of employees.
