For the North Carolina Education Lottery's new Bucks Scratch-offs, featuring a unique bonus game on the back, we explored a captivating question: if players already dream of winning, what happens when they get a bonus dream?
Our commercial brings this question to life, following a man who, upon discovering the scratch-off, first envisions a classic beach vacation. The true magic unfolds when he finds the bonus game, instantly transporting him into a surreal "bonus dream world"—a reflection of the out-of-this-world winning opportunity.
To make these dreamscapes truly unforgettable, we seamlessly blended practical effects with cutting-edge technology. An 8-foot life-sized octopus puppet was custom-fabricated to perform whimsical feats like playing drums, making cash rain, and feeding grapes, adding a layer of playful absurdity. Complementing this, we utilized a volume stage and Unreal Engine set design to create richly detailed and imaginative environments, ensuring the bonus dream was as visually spectacular as the potential win itself.
